What is your current position/career?
Currently, I am working as an independent contractor and working as a part-time employee for the city of Oxnard. I am actively looking for a full-time job closely related to video production.
How did Cal Lutheran and/or your film and television program set you up for success in this position/career?
I appreciated the film and television program for its inclusion of a portfolio class, which allowed me to showcase my best work on a website, prepare for interviews, and the ability to have a presentable resume. This experience has significantly contributed to my preparation for success in my career.
What skills or proficiencies did you acquire at Cal Lutheran, through your studies or other activities, that you now use in your current position/career?
Cal Lutheran has allowed me to expand my network, learn new workflows in my career, and grasp the fundamentals of filmmaking.
In general, what were some of your favorite aspects of the film and television major program? Such as research, classes, professors, etc.
I particularly enjoyed the film and television major program due to the intimate class sizes, ensuring a more personalized learning experience. I consistently felt supported with ready access to equipment and professors. Additionally, the opportunity to take classes with various multimedia professors created a diverse and enriching learning environment for me.
