I currently work for California Lutheran University in the Information Technology Services (ITS) department. My current role is Computer System Specialist I.
Why did you decide to pursue an MSIT?
I chose to pursue a Master’s in Information Technology to deepen my expertise in the field and build upon my foundational education. Having completed my Bachelor’s in Computer Science at Cal Lutheran, I gained knowledge in core areas such as networking and software engineering. However, I was eager to expand my knowledge in key areas like security and data management. This advanced degree allows me to enhance my skills and stay up to date on technological advancements.

I chose Cal Lutheran for my master’s program because of the strong support and encouragement they offer to employees pursuing further education. The generous tuition remission benefit made it possible for me to advance my studies. My familiarity with the campus and faculty, having earned my bachelor’s degree here, made the transition to graduate-level coursework seamless.

The MSIT program has advanced my career, particularly through courses like Data Communications & Networking and Project Management. These classes have equipped me with the skills to develop effective strategies for addressing complex IT challenges, further enhancing my expertise in the field.
