What is your current position/career?
I am currently a Geologist at Arcadis which is an environmental consulting firm in Irvine, California.
What were some of your favorite aspects of your major program? Such as research, classes, professors, etc.
I really enjoyed conducting research with Dr. Fung, especially over the summer as you make great connections. Dr. Fung presented me with a lot of great opportunities including being a DA, research, and a lot of great classes!
What key skills did you learn in the program that you now use in your current position/career?
My most useful skill I learned was time management and meeting deadlines. As a Geologist for an environmental consultant company, meeting deadlines for reports is very important to keep clients happy.
How has your major’s program set you up for success?
My major provided me with a lot of opportunities to beef up my resume. It really made me stand out when looking for a job. Perks of a small school is you get a lot more opportunities and hands on experience.
