Environmental Science Geosciences Undergraduate

Sawyer Graczyk ’24

I have always had a fascination with how the natural world works and its moving parts. I’ve always been interested in how the Earth’s crust moves and the composition of environments and inorganic materials that interact with each other.

Major: Environmental Science

Minor: Geosciences

Why did you choose your major?

I always had a fascination with how the natural world works.

Would you recommend it to a future student? Why?

Yes, if you are like me and want to learn more about all the moving parts that make the world work the way it does then this is a very fun major.

What are your future plans?

My future plans are to become an environmental scientist and go out into the field and collect data and research life in their natural habitat.

Are there any particular experiences — in or out of the classroom — that have helped you identify that path?

I found that I enjoy my ES classes the most when we are out doing field labs. Especially, when we go out off the trail and collect/observe the wild.
