The first thing that made me fall in love with Cal Lutheran was the willingness of the faculty to help out. I was able to form connections with faculty that lead me down a path I never could have imagined.
Go to Career Services and help set yourself up for an internship freshman year. Yes, you may think it’s too early, but you want to do this right away. This can help as a stepping stone for a career, graduate school, or whatever you choose.

My internship that I was a part of was everything and more that an undergraduate student could wish for. They welcomed me with open arms and didn’t shy away from the casual pranks.

Majoring in Communications was a great choice for me because while marketing is about numbers and academics, advertising design is creative. I get the best of both worlds which is very much who I am.
I have always wanted to teach, and I originally thought I was going back to school just to get my credential. But I fell in love with Neuro-Psychology along the way. I became fascinated with the brain and how it related to emotional experiences in life.

Dr. Cosenza takes time to talk. He’s very professional and helped me a lot to fully integrate on campus, no small feat for an international student not used to the American educational system.

While a student at the MBA of the School of Management I realized that my background in agriculture, along with the valuable knowledge provided by Cal Lutheran’s academic staff, couldn’t be better used but to my own business.

I’ve always been plugged in to current events. What fascinates me as much as the news stories themselves is what goes on behind the scenes to produce them. I always knew it was a process I had to be a part of.
I owe everything I am to Cal Lutheran. Everything I was learning applied to my new position, I found my passion, and I am now giving back.

I’m an OMS-I at LECOM pursuing a degree in Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.). I am also funding my education through a military scholarship as a Second Lieutenant in the US Air Force (which I highly recommend to any aspiring docs, by the way).

Callie, whom I play, has to figure out how to love herself before she can truly love Sara. I think that this is a very important message because I believe that loving oneself is the truest form of love and is necessary to survive.

I have found purpose at Cal Lutheran. I do not know where I will be in 5 or 10 years, but I feel that right now I am where I belong.
The Swenson Summer Research Fellowship has provided me with the opportunity to not only expand my organic chemistry knowledge, but to also delve into the world of scientific discovery and grow as a student, researcher, and a person.

I’m the music production department assistant, as well as the person who was in charge of Cal LuPalooza last year, so I’m taking a leadership role again this year to help the event be even bigger than last year.

I am a junior at Cal Lutheran, expected to graduate spring of 2016 with a B.A. in Sociology. I am a full time student, as well as a student athlete playing soccer, and a full time mother to my soon to be one year old daughter, Elsie.
I’m in my first years of PhD studies in Biochemistry at The Scripps Research Institute. I’m studying the microbiome, which is just a fancy word to describe the bacteria that live in a person’s gut.
