Major: Psychology
Why did you choose your major?
I have always had an affinity for helping people, and when I took my first psychology class in high school, I fell in love with the idea that empathy and understanding for and of the mind was a way to do that.
Would you recommend it to a future student? Why?
I do recommend it to a future student! I think a psychology degree can get you very far in life and there are a lot of different routes you can go down with it, as well as the bias I have towards how cool it is to learn!
What are your future plans?
My future plans are to pursue my graduate degree in licensed social work (LCSW) and begin practicing in a clinical aspect.
Have any particular experiences — in or out of the classroom — helped you identify that path?
Lots of conversations with friends and teachers and a lot of research on the different graduate degrees possible for me. Making connections and talking to people has been the biggest help!
